The Mission:

The Vero Beach Police Foundation was established by business and civic leaders as an independent, non-profit organization to promote excellence in the Vero Beach Police Department and improve public safety. The Foundation stands beside the men and women of the Vero Beach Police Department whose dedication and personal sacrifice preserves the safety and security that is critical to the community.

The Police Foundation supports programs designed to help the VBPD keep pace with rapidly evolving technology, strategies and training.

The Foundation:

* Provides resources that are not readily available through other means;

* Serves as a vehicle for tax-exempt gifts and grants from individuals, businesses, and philanthropies;

* Is the only organization authorized to raise funds on behalf of the VBPD and;

* Does not solicit by telephone or use telemarketers.

The Police Foundation works closely with the Police Department to develop a strategic program agenda. The Foundation encourages and supports VBPD programs in two main areas:

1. Projects, research studies, and equipment to improve the effectiveness of police activities; and

2. Education, training and skill development to strengthen the partnership between the police and the public.

Public safety cannot rest on the shoulders of law enforcement agencies alone. As much as we all need the police, they need our support as well. Please join us in our important work by contributing as generously as you can. Contributions to the Vero Beach Police Foundation are tax-deductible under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
